Meet the Team Officials

Head Coach: Sunny Bhatti - I'm a 1st year coach that was looking to be an assistant but the league was short so I was happy to volunteer. I was part of the U9 coaching staff as an On-Ice helper last season. We have a great team of parents that have stepped up to make this a safe and fun experience for all of our young athletes. I look forward to getting to know all of you and your wonderful kids.

I played minor hockey growing up in the West Kootenays and have been playing Adult Rec hockey in Chilliwack for the past 20 years.

Assistant Coaches:

  • Allan Kelm - Excited to coach again this year! This is my fourth year as an assistant coach, moving up from U7 to U9. I’ve played hockey my entire life, including junior hockey in my teens, and I still play in the Chilliwack Men’s League. Most importantly, I want the kids to remember that hockey should always be fun! Keep an eye out for my company’s new banner, Iceman Refrigeration, at the Coliseum!
  • Patrick Aslin - This will be my first year as an assistant coach. Last year was my son’s first year in minor hockey. Being at the rink a couple of times a week was a really rewarding feeling that left me wanting to be more involved for the upcoming season, whether it be an on-ice helper or maybe even an assistant coach. Growing up I played minor hockey in Port Coquitlam. From there I moved to play in a men’s league hockey out in North Vancouver. I’ve been on the ice playing hockey for over 30 years and I’m hoping I will be able to provide some knowledge and experience that could help grow the kids on the team.
  • Bryan Gourlie - Played junior hockey with the Chilliwack Chiefs (BCHL) before continuing in the WHL with Portland Winterhawks and Kamloops Blazers. Since 2017, I have been part of the Yale Hockey Academy coaching staff, serving as Assistant Coach for U15 Prep, U17, and U18 Prep teams. This year, I am Head Coach of the U15 team, and when I’m not traveling with them, I’m excited to support the C7 players and help ensure they have a great season.

On-Ice Helper: Kyle Charlie - I started playing hockey with CMHA at age 5 and continued until I was 18. This will be my fourth year serving as an on-ice helper.  Fun fact: my favorite NHL team is the Canucks, and my all-time favorite player is Teemu Selanne!

Safety Person: Dawn Wilson - I’ve been a Canucks fan since childhood and have fond memories of watching games with my family in the 90s. I enjoy the outdoors, including fishing, hunting, camping, and hiking. I also volunteer as a member of the board at the Sardis Children’s Center.

Team Manager: Krista Christiuk - Excited to manage the U9 C7 team this year! I have experience managing my son’s CMHA rep teams from 2014-2019 (apologies in advance for overcommunication) and have also served as a past CMHA board member. Our family has been billets for the Chilliwack Chiefs for over 10 years.

We will be at practice on Tuesday, October 7 to introduce ourselves and answer any questions you may have.
