Congratulations from Chilliwack Minor Hockey

Apr. 25, 2020

"With the 14th overall pick in the 2020 WHL Bantam Draft, the Winnipeg Ice select, from Chilliwack, British Columbia, of Yale Hockey Academy, forward Zach Benson."

With those words, former Chilliwack Minor Hockey player Zach Benson became a member of the Winnipeg Ice of the Western Hockey League. The WHL is one of the three major junior leagues in Canada and this is the final level of junior hockey prior to players turning pro or going to University. We are extremely proud to send our congratulations to Zach and his entire family on this tremendous achievement and wish Zach well on his goal of playing this great game at the highest level!

Starting out with Chilliwack Minor Hockey in 2010, Zach soon moved up to the next level for the duration of his minor hockey days in Chilliwack, and in 2018 Zach transferred to Yale Hockey Academy. To this day though, Zach has continued to be involved with Chilliwack Minor Hockey and this past season was also a team official of the Chilliwack Peewee A1 team.

From all of us at Chilliwack Minor Hockey, congratulations to Darcy and Jaclyn, Dylan and Levi, but especially Zach!
