2020 CMHA Rep Tryouts Schedule and Information UPDATED SCHEDULE SEPTEMBER 29, 2020
Hello to Chilliwack Minor Hockey members,
Attached is the Rep Tryouts schedule set to begin on Tuesday, September 8 at Sardis Sports Complex, formerly known as Twin Rinks. This message is being sent to all members as there is some C Division information that will follow the initial message.
Note the process for Rep Tryouts that we will be following:
- Every division will get three 1 hour Evaluation sessions with approximately 17 skaters on the ice
- These sessions will involve skills such as skating, puck handling, battle and flow drills, small area games and if permitted by Via Sports, we will have game play of 3 on 3
- Due to Hockey Pathways Guidelines, the Atom (U11) division will run the entire tryout process twice (the first 3 sessions are NOT evaluated), with the final 3 sessions being Evaluations
- The Team Genius Evaluation app will be utilized for all Rep Tryouts
- There will be 2-3 evaluators at each session led by Clayton Robinson (Player/Coach development director for CMHA)
- All the Evaluators will be NON coaches and will have no connection at all to the division they are Evaluating
- Once Evaluations are complete players will be separated into Development groups A1, A2, A3
- These groups will be run by 6 rotating development instructors until the go ahead to form teams and rosters have been given, which will be no earlier than Thanksgiving
- Once we are given go ahead to build season rosters another small Evaluation will take place to confirm rankings and form teams depending on roster sizes

In regards to C Division teams in U11 and above as well as team formations for the U6 thru to the U9 Divisions and the processes, there has been no change in this, and PCAHA has instructed us to follow the same procedures as we always have, with the formation of teams and the balancing processes remaining as they always have. No game play will take place until at least Thanksgiving. Further information on the C Division will be sent once confirmed.
